Sound Engineer
I am a sound engineer in training and I spend a lot of my time producing, recording and mixing music. I am 23 years old and live in Wolvega, the Netherlands.
View My WorkEver since I was a kid I've been obsessed with music. When I was 15 I started recording my own songs with an old-fashioned Tascam portastudio. Later I got more involved in producing more modern styles of music in DAWs like FL Studio and Ableton. However, I had to put this passion on the back burner to focus on my studies.
Eventually in 2022 I obtained my MBO 4 diploma in aviation technology and I've been working for 3.5 years as a service technician for wind turbines in the Noordoostpolder. Now that I have the time and budget again, I decided to follow my passion for music and in September 2025 I started the Sound Education program. This is a year-long vocational training where everything related to audio is covered. From songwriting, producing, synthesis and mixing to acoustics, studio construction and system engineering — at Sound Education everything is covered and everyone has the opportunity to dive deeper into subjects they find interesting.
I have experience recording bands in a professional studio environment and setting up the appropriate microphone configurations.
I have experience mixing multitracks and knowledge of techniques that ensure the music sounds professional and reaches the listener.
I produce and write music and together with a friend we record this in my home studio.
I've had lessons in live mixing with the Digico SD 12 and the MIDAS M32. This has only been in a classroom setting and not yet in practice.
I have experience measuring the acoustic properties of a room and applying improvements based on those measurements.
My current goal is to gain more practical experience to expand my knowledge and connections.
I am looking for a music venue or studio where I can volunteer to gain hands-on experience. I hope that in the future I can turn my passion into my profession.
For my education I recorded the Groningen metal band 'Disdain' at Studio Spitsbergen. I mixed this multitrack and received an 8.97 for it!
A live sound practical lesson from Allert Aalders at music venue de Helling in Utrecht. First setting up the microphone configurations and then mixing a multitrack on the Digico SD12.
My own home studio where I spend my time recording, producing and mixing my music.
Elimination of resonances at 60Hz using self-built membrane absorbers. Applied the correct physics formulas to dampen 60Hz, measured the results and demonstrated them with Room EQ Wizard.
